The prison is getting closer: new accusations are brought against Harvey Weinstein

Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was charged with new charges of sexual harassment. And if, on the basis of the previous charges, Weinstein was threatened with 25 years in prison, he can now go to jail for the rest of his life.

Manhattan District Attorney Sai Vance Jr. added to the Weinstein case a charge of predatory sexual abuse at the request of another victim. The name of the victim is not called, writes New York Daily News.

“This indictment is the result of the incredible courage of those who were able to survive this and move on,” the district attorney said, adding that the charges were brought under “the most serious charges of sexual assault existing in the criminal law of New York.” The investigation, he said, will continue.

In May, Weinstein's 66-year-old was charged with two episodes of rape and sexual offenses, according to one of which the scandalous producer pleaded not guilty. The fact on whose statements Weinstein will appear before the court has not been disclosed. The district attorney said only that the crimes were committed by the accused in 2004, 2006 and 2013.

The story of Harvey Weinstein has become one of the loudest sex scandals in Hollywood in many years. Dozens of famous women were accused of harassment by the producer, including Uma Thurman, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, Mira Sorvino, Gwyneth Paltrow and other celebrities. Eight women reported rape, and more than eighty reported harassment.

The victim, the charges of which may add to Weinstein tens of years in prison, said that in 2006, the producer raped her, forcing her to have oral sex.
