Weinstein was taken into custody on May 25, appearing to the police voluntarily. A few hours after the arrest, the producer was released on bail of a million dollars. The producer was obliged to wear an electronic bracelet that tracks his movement.
In addition to the police in New York, separate investigations into Weinstein are conducted in London and Los Angeles. Rather, he will be charged with other rape and sexual assault charges. In New York, for the first time, filmmakers face imprisonment from 5 to 25 years of imprisonment, for the second to 4 years.
