Trump and Putin talked on the phone 45 minutes

Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin ended a telephone conversation, reports Reuters, citing a senior official in the US administration.

The conversation between the leaders of the 2 powers lasted for 45 minutes and became the first after billionaire Trump took over as the 45 president of the USA.

During the conversation that Trump led from the Oval Office, Vice President Mile Pence and Trump's advisers were present.

Kremlin revealed the contents of the conversation.

“Current international issues were discussed in detail, including the fight against terrorism, the state of affairs in the Middle East, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the area of ​​strategic stability and non-proliferation, the situation around the Iranian nuclear program and the Korean Peninsula. The main aspects of the crisis in Ukraine are also touched upon. It was agreed to establish partnership cooperation in all these and other areas,” the statement says.

The leaders of the two countries noted as a priority the need to combat international terrorism and agreed to improve the coordination of the Russian and American military in order to defeat the "Islamic state" and other terrorist groups operating in Syria.

During the conversation, both sides “demonstrated a commitment to active joint work to stabilize and develop Russian-American interaction on a constructive, equal and mutually beneficial basis.”

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have agreed to give instructions to work out possible dates and venue for their personal meeting.

Donald Trump asked me to convey the wishes of happiness and prosperity to the Russian people, noting that the people of the United States sympathize with Russia and its citizens.

Vladimir Putin, in turn, stressed that Russia has similar feelings towards Americans.

This is the third (of 5 scheduled for today) Trump conversation with foreign leaders. Before speaking with Putin, the American leader spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The plans remained the President of France Francois Hollande and the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
