Tesla imposed fines for idle time at "gas stations"

The American company Tesla Motors has introduced an additional fee for a simple electric vehicles at fast charging stations, according to company message.

Thus, an electric vehicle owner will pay 40 cents for each minute of idleness of a charged car. The company hopes that the innovation will disaccustom drivers to use the gas station as a free parking.

The fact is that recently it has become difficult to find a free place to charge cars at Supercharger stations. At some stations, Tesla electric cars are fully charged for hours, preventing other cars from connecting to the electrical grid.

Thus, some unscrupulous drivers began to turn fast charging stations into free parking - first they did not charge for parking at the station. At the same time, the owner can charge his car at the Tesla Supercharger station, which allows to bring the car’s battery charge level to 50% in 20 minutes absolutely free.

According to the new rules, the Tesla app allows owners to remotely control their vehicle, alerting them when the charge is almost complete, and again, once fully charged.

Having received such a message, the owner of the electric vehicle will have to drive the car away from the station within 5 minutes. After this time will be charged for idle time.

The company said that in the future they plan to install the function of the county from the charging station to the parking lot indicated in advance by the driver.
