FBI knew about possible shooting in Florida

The FBI in January received a signal from a man close to Nikol Cruz that the young man has a weapon and can arrange school shooting.

According to The New York Times, the agency acknowledged that they could have prevented a deadly shooting in high school in Florida.

The source said that Cruise had "the intention to kill people, erratic behavior, and he wrote disturbing messages on social networks," and advised the FBI to "view him as a potential shooter at school," the agency said in a statement.

The agency said that the information should have been evaluated and sent to the Miami office at the FBI.

“We discovered that after receiving this information, the required procedure for sending the information was not followed. The information was not provided to the FBI Miami Field Office and no additional investigations were conducted at this time,” the agency said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that in September the FBI received more information about a possible crime. The video blogger from Mississippi reported that under his video on Youtube there was a comment from the user "nikolas cross”Who wrote“ I'm going to be a professional shooter. ”

The FBI agents checked the comment, but could not identify the source, as it was sent from an open source database.

Recall that February 14 in high school in Parkland, Florida, was shot, as a result of which at least 17 people were killed and several injured. It is reported that first the attacker triggered a fire alarm that caused a panic at school, and then opened fire on the people running.

The shooter was a former student of this school. 19-year-old Nicholas Cruz. The motives of the shooter are currently not established, but it is known that he had previously been expelled from this educational institution for disciplinary reasons, calling it a “threat” to students. A young man who was adopted at birth by an elderly couple, has recently suffered from depression. His father died when the boy was still young, and his mother was buried just 3 a month ago.
