Tina Turner's eldest son committed suicide
The eldest son of American singer Tina Turner committed suicide at his home in Studio-City, California, on July 3. The body of 59-year-old Craig Raymond Turner was discovered that very day, reports USA Today.
Police found Turner dead with a gunshot wound in 12: 38. Authorities officially announced suicide. An autopsy has not been done yet.
Craig worked in real estate and was the eldest son of Tina Turner, whom she gave birth to 18 in years from saxophonist Raymond Hill. Craig adopted Ike Turner when the singer married him in 1962 year. In 1974, Tina and Ike had a son, Ronald.
In a 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Turner said Craig was a “very emotional child” who offered to help his mother when Tina was being beaten by her husband. By the time Turner left her abusive husband in 1978, Craig was already in high school.
In 2013, the singer married German music producer Irwin Bach, who had been her partner for about 30 years. On Tuesday, Turner and Bach were in Paris for High Fashion Week. When it became known about the death of her son, the singer was at a party in honor of Giorgio Armani Prive Haute Couture.
