The funeral of Russian composer Vladimir Shainsky will take place on January 22 at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Culture Alexander Zhuravsky, writes Look.
“To date, an agreement has been reached that the farewell to the outstanding Russian composer, as well as the civil funeral service, will be held on January 22 from 11.00 to 13.00 in the Moscow House of Composers. The funeral will be held at 14.00 at the Troekurovsky cemetery, ”Zhuravsky said.
He explained that the date of the funeral was appointed so late, as the composer’s relatives could not quickly obtain a death certificate in the United States. It also took time to obtain permission to export the body of Shainsky from the United States.
“The coffin with the body of Vladimir Yakovlevich should fly to Russia this coming Friday,” said Zhuravsky.
