Famous Russian composer Vladimir Shainsky died in California still 25 December, but he still has not been buried.

He spent the last years of his life in the United States, since only there he could be provided with adequate medical care.

“The thing is how he came here. He became so ill in Moscow that I made an agreement with the surgeon and brought him here from the plane to the operating table. If this had not happened, then 10 years ago he would not have existed. Almost here he was sick all this time after the operation, although he had the oncology removed, but he was still under observation all the time. Despite this, he still traveled and gave some concerts. I just had to always be with him, because it was required for all medical reasons,” said the musician’s widow Svetlana Shainskaya.

According to her, in Russia, doctors did not even want to make a diagnosis “cancer,” there was no talk about the operation. And in the USA, he was operated on the first day after his arrival, stating that he could not postpone any more days, thereby saving his life by a miracle.

After Shaina's death, his widow Svetlana expressed a desire to bury him in Russia, but she does not have the money to transport the body from America..

“It turned out that he died on Christmas Day in the USA. Everyone worked for a few days, then went away for the New Year holidays, Russian Christmas, so all this is delayed. Now the calls have just begun to appear again, something has begun to move. Regarding the Sobyanin cemetery, no matter who asked for it - only Troekurovskoye for some reason, despite all the regalia of Shainsky, he believes that he is not worthy to be buried at Novodevichy. No matter who approached him, no matter how famous the people were, he said – Troekurovskoe, period. And now the issue of delivering the body is being resolved,” said the composer’s widow, Svetlana Shainskaya.

According to her, the family decided to abandon the cremation of the body, and therefore transportation will cost much more. But at the same time, all those who offer transportation services call different conditions and prices, which complicates the negotiation process.

“Every person calls, everyone has their own information, one says one thing, then another, then he disappears. It’s very difficult to negotiate,” the woman admitted.

She added that she and her son are also negotiating with the Russian officials about the transportation of the body, but so far they have not achieved results.

“And I am negotiating, and my son is on the phone all day long, going to different authorities to resolve this issue,” Shainskaya explained.

She admitted that she originally wanted to bury the composer in the United States, but the resonance in Russia made her change her mind, even though this resulted in huge problems.

“We wanted to bury him here (in the USA), but after Malakhov’s program everyone started calling and saying: how, it must be in Russia!! If I knew what I would have to go through... Because I don’t sleep, I don’t eat, I don’t even know where I am, in what world,” said Shainsky’s widow.

According to her, despite the many famous songs that the composer wrote, he was not rich. Huge medical expenses sometimes left the family on the verge of survival. Therefore, now she has no money for transportation of the body, and she is forced to wait for a decision and help from the Russian authorities, and they have not yet made a decision on this matter.
