In Wisconsin, a married couple, 40-year-old Heather McCoy and 39-year-old Lakeydrika McCoy, are accused of committing serious crimes, neglecting children and causing bodily harm. Crime Online.
Child Protection Services (CPS) has repeatedly come to their home on 1200 block of Randall Street in Beloit. Authorities in the house Makkoev called daughter Heze. In March, she spent the night with her mother and saw what unsanitary conditions they live in.
“She stated there were full garbage bags on the kitchen counter and rat feces on the floor and on the refrigerator. Garbage lay in suitcases, bags and the garage. When the daughter offered to help clean up, the mother asked to leave her alone,” authorities say.
In the house Makkoev lived six children under the age of five years, two older children and four dogs. Two of the younger children were not Makkoev's children; they lived in their house while their mother was treated at the hospital.
One of the officers said that when he entered the room, he felt a strong smell of mold, garbage, dirty diapers and pets. The floor and carpet in the house were dirty and cluttered with various objects. The house did not have toothbrushes for children and adults, the bathroom floor and shower were dirty.
It is noted that in 2010, children were taken from Makkoev. Why they were returned is unknown. Social services first visited the family in 1998. The service received 40 family complaints and responded to at least 16 of them. Three complaints were found to be well-founded.
During the last visit, social workers found many injuries in children.
When the officer picked up a one year old child in his arms, flies began swarming over the place where he lay. Two more 3's and 4's children were malnourished and were covered with bruises. The 2-year-old child was dehydrated and had an 3 inch wound on his leg.
Both parents are arrested, they are forbidden contact with children. The next trial is scheduled for May 16.
