Media: US authorities hide the list of states with mass incidence of COVID-19

The United States hid information about mass infections in the country, reports "Lenta.ru".

The White House drew up a document that speaks of the "red zones" of COVID-19 - states where the spread of the coronavirus has recently been high. The Daily Beast writes about this with reference to the Center for Public Integrity (CPI), which acquired the document.

It is noted that the list of states of the “red zone” was prepared for the White House task force on coronavirus and distributed to members of the federal government. However, they did not publish it for a wide audience.

The list includes 18 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, California, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah.

“The fact that this information was not published for the general public does not make sense. Why are they trying to hide it from the Americans? ” - Ashish Jah, director of the Harvard Institute of Public Health, was indignant.

According to the latest data, the number of people infected in the United States has exceeded 3,5 million. Complications caused by COVID-19 pneumonia killed 138 people.

The epidemic also affects the political situation in the country. For example, the chances of re-electing President Donald Trump have diminished, because because of the coronavirus, he cannot hold mass meetings with his supporters, who ensured him a victory in the 2016 elections.
