The situation is catastrophic: every year a million people leave Ukraine
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin said on the ICTV TV show “Freedom of Speech” that every year about 1 million Ukrainian citizens leave the country abroad.

“The situation is catastrophic,” he noted about this
“About a million Ukrainians leave every year. We believe that, unfortunately, this trend will continue in the near future,” Klimkin emphasized.
According to him, 1 million 400 thousand Ukrainians already live in Poland alone:
“In Wroclaw they say that there is Polish and Ukrainian, if not 50/50, but already 30/70 (percent),” he added.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki also previously stated that in recent years Poland has hosted more than 1,5 million Ukrainians. And the Current Time TV channel reported that in 2016 alone, the Polish authorities issued about 800 thousand work permits to Ukrainian citizens. And in 2017 - more than a million.
“Now you can meet people from Crimea, Kherson, Kharkov, Odessa. And even now I hear Russian more often than Ukrainian. This didn’t exist three or four years ago,” says Maria Zan, who has been living in Poland for several years. Most Ukrainians leave to earn money: the average salary of a Ukrainian worker in Poland is $700 per month, that is, three to four times more than in Ukraine.
Ukrainians for several years leading among all foreigners who have received a residence permit in the EU. Back in 2014, the residence permit in the Schengen countries received 302,8 thousand Ukrainians (13% of the total number of permits), in 2015 year - already 500 thousand or 19,2% of all issued residence permits. This is more than a citizen of the United States, China, India, Syria or Morocco received a residence permit in Europe. At the same time, 430 thousand Ukrainians received permission to reside in Poland. The share of Ukrainian citizens among those who received permission to reside in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovakia is also high.
