Violent turbulence sent American Airlines 10 passengers to hospital

As a result of turbulence on a transcontinental flight American Airlines at least 10 people were hospitalized on board, said an airline representative ABC News airline representative.

Passengers on the flight 759 American Airlineswhich on Saturday afternoon landed safely in Philadelphia described what was happening as follows:

“They spent thirty minutes handing out drinks to us. When the flight attendants were already in the last rows, we were all asked to fasten our seat belts. The flight attendants rushed to their seats, but they did not have enough time: they began to shake, after which there was a feeling of falling. Babies were screaming, drinks were falling,” said Ian Smith of South Philadelphia.

Representatives of the Federal Air Transport Agency reported that the flight crew received a message about strong turbulence during a flight over the North Atlantic. Spokesperson American Airlines сказал ABC Newsthat the company cannot comment on what exactly caused this incident.

The airline called the turbulence "short-lived" and said all 10 passengers had now been released from hospital. Among the injured were three passengers and seven crew members.

The aircraft was reportedly carrying 287 passengers and 12 crew members.
