Russians are less likely to receive foreign visas

The number of foreign visas received by Russians in 2015 was reduced by 37% compared to 2014 in the year. This is reported in the research company VisaToHome. According to analysts, such a significant drop is associated with an increase in the exchange rate and the introduction of biometrics in obtaining Schengen visas.

At the same time, compared with the pre-crisis 2013 year, the decline was 48%.

It is noted that after Russians in September 2015 were obliged to undergo fingerprinting when they issued a “Schengen”, demand in the fourth quarter fell by 39% compared to the same period of 2014 of the year.

According to Rosstat, in the first nine months of 2015, the number of overseas tourist trips decreased by 31,4%, which was the largest decline in the last 15 years.
