Russian businessman Roman Abramovich will arrive in Israel on Thursday, where he can begin the procedure for obtaining Israeli citizenship. This statement was made by the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, writes TASS.
According to the publication, Abramovich decided to take this step after difficulties in obtaining a UK visa. The owner of the British club Chelsea, the newspaper recalls, is currently building a large mansion in the prestigious tourist area of Tel Aviv, Neve Tzedek.
The Israeli newspaper Globes reported in April 2015 that Abramovich purchased the Versano Hotel in Neve Tzedek for $25 million, which became the first property he purchased on the territory of the Jewish state. According to the newspaper, the Russian billionaire also bought the territory adjacent to the hotel with a total area of 1,5 thousand square meters. m.
