'Yeralash' director jailed for 14 years for pedophilia

In Russia, ex-director, screenwriter and director of the children's film magazine Yeralash Ilya Belostotsky was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He was found guilty of pedophilia. He will serve his sentence in a strict regime colony, writes UNIAN.

The meeting was held behind closed doors. The verdict has not yet entered into force, therefore Belostotsky can appeal.

He has been in jail since October 2020. At first, he was accused of indecent acts against a child under 14 years old. But later the case was reclassified, and now he is accused of acts of a sexual nature with the use of violence or using the helpless state of the victim, still in relation to a child under 14 years old.

It is known that Belostotsky worked with children for about 15 years, and during a search of his house, a collection of child pornography was found on his computer, writes Starhit.

Belostotsky directed several issues of the children's film magazine Yeralash and seven episodes of the TV series Sled.

His latest work as a director is the 2018 children's film Flight of the Horned Vikings.
