President Trump once again presented his salary
US President Donald Trump once again transferred 25% of his annual salary to charity.
The White House spokeswoman, Sarah Sanders, began her Wednesday briefing with the announcement that Donald Trump continues to hold his election pledge that he will fully transfer his presidential salary to charitable and state needs.
According to "Voice of America", Sanders reported that President Trump is transferring his salary for the second quarter of the year - about one hundred thousand dollars before taxes - to the federal Small Business Administration (SBA). Director of the department Linda McMahon, who was present at the briefing, accepted Trump's check, thanked the head of state and said that the money would go to a program to help veterans who want to become entrepreneurs.
After election Trump said he would give up his presidential salary. However, the law does not allow to stop paying salaries to the head of state, therefore Trump said he intends to transfer it to various government departments on a quarterly basis. The money for the first quarter of 2017 was transferred to the National Park Service, for the second - to the Department of Education for the construction of a children's science summer camp, for the third, to the Department of Health and Human Services to combat the spread of opioids in the United States.
