After 27 hours of discussion, congressional committees approved a draft replacement for Obamacare

The Budget Committee, as well as the Committee on Energy and Commerce in the US House of Representatives, approved the republican project on the reform of insurance medicine, which should replace the Obamacare program.

Discussion of the document lasted 27 hours 18 minutes, reports CNN.

Prior to this, the document was also approved after the 18-hour hearing by members of the budget committee of Congress.

This project has strong support in the White House and is a kind of test of President Donald Trump’s ability to negotiate with lawmakers, since this is the first serious legislative initiative that needs approval from Congress since the start of his presidency.

Therefore, the president is negotiating with Republicans in Congress, and also actively supports the project, including in social networks.

However, some Republicans are skeptical about the haste of the White House and the speaker, and believe that forcing the legislative process can be counterproductive.

According to forecasts, the adoption of the project is expected in mid-April.

Recall, March 6 congressmen from the Republican Party published an 66-page health care reform bill. It proposes a reduction in the size of government subsidies, a waiver of compulsory medical insurance and an increase in the cost of insurance by 30%. The current ban on the refusal of insurance for patients with chronic diseases will remain in force.
