Across Russia, there are shares in memory of the murder of Nemtsov

On the fortieth day after the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov, his comrades gathered on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge, where he was shot on the night of February 28.

Activists, among them Alexei Navalny, Gennady Gudkov, Vladimir Ryzhkov, Ilya Yashin, laid flowers at the site of his death.

Drivers of cars passing over the bridge actively gave audible signals.

“One woman tried to give flowers to a policeman from her car, but he refused to take them. Then one of the activists ran up to the car and took the flowers to the parapet of the bridge. Most of those gathered expressed confidence that at least a memorial plaque with Nemtsov’s name should appear at the site of the politician’s murder,” the BBC correspondent said.

At the same time, not everyone considers it necessary to rename the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge to “Nemtsov Bridge”.

As a colleague of Boris Nemtsov on the RPR-PARNAS party Ilya Yashin said, on Wednesday a request will be sent to the authorities of the capital with a request to install a memorial sign at the site of the politician's death.

After the action on the bridge, the relatives and friends of the opposition politician attended a memorial service for Nemtsov, which was held in the church of the martyr Clement, in Zamoskvorechye.

Marathon on "Rain"

Commemorative events take place throughout Russia. Thus, civil activists in Krasnodar hung a banner in memory of Boris Nemtsov “Heroes do not die.”

People in Nizhny Novgorod lined up with the word “Fight” in memory of Nemtsov.

From 16:00 to 23:00 the Nemtsov Bridge marathon will be held on the Dozhd TV channel. Famous musicians, as well as Nemtsov’s relatives and friends, will gather in the studio.

It is expected that the group “Bravo”, Andrei Makarevich, DDT, “Night Snipers”, BI-2, “Dancing Minus”, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk from the group “Okean Elzy” and many others will perform at the marathon.

Dozhd, which is a pay TV channel, promised to make the broadcast open to everyone during the marathon.

The murder of Nemtsov

Boris Nemtsov was killed late in the evening 27 this February on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky bridge in Moscow.

The crime occurred when the politician was heading with his companion, the Ukrainian model Anna Duritskaya, to his home.

According to the investigation, the killer fired six bullets in the back of the opposition.

Five residents of Chechnya were arrested in the case of Nemtsov’s murder: Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. Another suspect in this case, Beslan Shavanov, committed a suicide bombing when law enforcement officers tried to detain him in Grozny.

Zaur Dadaev first confessed to the murder, and then refused to testify with a confession of guilt, complaining of torture.
