According to Miami on “Lada”: a Russian in Florida assembled a collection of Soviet cars
Yellow "Lada" with flashing lights and the emblem of the USSR on the door surprises passersby Miami, Florida, who had never seen such cars before.
The real traffic police car, a 1983 Kopeyka, came to the United States from Ukraine, but its American owner does not know where it was stored or who it belonged to, reports “Voice of America".
The car still has snow-white belts, and it is also equipped with radar - the same age as the first Star Wars film.
“It is completely original and completely complete. Sirens, flashing lights - everything works. After it arrived, we just washed it and didn’t do anything else with it,” said the American owner of the Lada, Alex Belov, who moved to the United States from St. Petersburg 20 years ago.
The man has been interested in cars since childhood; in Miami he works as a mechanic in one of the local car dealerships, where he has a whole collection of Soviet cars, as well as the legendary Java motorcycle.
Thanks to his passion Belova know many Russian stars who come on tour and shooting in Miami.
Cars were rented from him. Timati, Tarzan and other stars. Alex claims he organizes such shootings for free.
For example, Timati glorified the red "five" in the cabin of Belov with the number russian. During the shooting of the video, Alex was also in the car and perfectly fit into the rapper's video, although as a result the footage did not turn into a clip.
Belov’s collection also includes a Moskvich 2041SL, which was discontinued during Soviet times. It is the only one in the USA, and the cost of this car is now a tidy sum.
Alex removes many copies in his collection, equipping them with seats from modern cars from different countries, for example, from Lexus, neon lights and other decorative things.
“People are shocked, and most offended are those who ride Rolls Rois, Maibach etc., because they don’t pay as much attention to them as to the approaching Zhiguli,” Belov said.
