A couple from Texas could not fly to Mexico because of a passport card

A couple from North Texas Suzanne and Jim Pugh could not go on a journey on the 49 anniversary of a joint marriage to the resort of Cabo San Lucas in Mexico because of the confusion that arose with Passport card.

The couple was planning a vacation for July and decided to extend their passports, which expired in June. They went to the office Passport Application Acceptance Facility, to fill out the necessary documents, but the employee recommended to issue Passport Card, assuring that with this card people will be able to make the planned trip.

As Jim said, he received a card and, without paying special attention to it, threw it into the general package of documents for the trip. At the airport, it turned out that the official of the department had misled the Pug couple, and with Passport card can not fly. With this document you can get overland or sea to the countries of the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada.

A stewardess told Jim that they were not letting a 100 man into the plane a week for the same reason. Note that information about the inability to fly on airplanes with Passport card written on the back of the document.

“I’m a grown woman, but I wanted to cry like a child. I was looking forward to my vacation,” recalls Suzanne.

“90% of the problems are due to the fact that I don’t check everything myself, but listen to someone else. I should have looked at the document and read it carefully. But I won’t stop traveling, I’ll just be more careful in the future,” Jim said.

The couple did not manage to celebrate the anniversary in Mexico, but they went on a journey within the United States.
