Palestinians will be sued for fire damage

The Jewish National Fund - Keren Kaemet Le-Israel - will file a lawsuit in international courts and demand compensation for damage to the Fund's forests and lands in areas bordering the Gaza Strip.

We are talking not only about the new type of terror used by Hamas - setting fire to Israeli territory using kites, but also about the damage caused by rocket and mortar attacks. For these purposes, the Foundation will hire the best lawyers in the world who specialize in such claims.

Chairman of the Foundation Keren Kayemet le-Israel Dani Atar, who, accompanied by members of the board of directors, visited several villages on the Gaza border today, said: “It is unacceptable that Hamas once again escapes responsibility for its atrocities, directed not only against Israeli citizens, but against wildlife. Hamas' terror has caused serious environmental damage, and it is imperative that Hamas pays in full for its crimes. Hamas has long lost its human appearance, its actions are criminal both in relation to people and in relation to nature - animals and plants.”

Dani Atar also noted: “We are mobilizing children from villages on the Gaza border for large-scale tree planting. Hamas burns, and we will plant trees! We will again prove that we are spiritually stronger, life is sacred to us, not death.”

Since the beginning of the last wave of unrest in the Gaza borders, the 265 fires have occurred, resulting in the burning of 282 hectares of forest lands of the Jewish National Fund.
