An American in an open letter denied his son because of his racist views

Letter to the newspaper Fargoin which the father condemns his son for participating in a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, has become very popular on the Internet.

The letter was written by Pierce Tefft and addressed to his son, Peter Tefft.

“My name is Piers Tefft and I am writing to everyone regarding my youngest son, Peter Tefft, a white nationalist who has been featured on several local news reports.

On Friday evening, my son went to Charlottesville, Va., And gave an interview to national news when he went with a group of white nationalists.

I, along with all his brothers and sisters and the whole family, want to renounce loudly the heinous, hateful and racist rhetoric and actions of my son. We do not know exactly where he took these beliefs, but clearly not at home.

I invited to my house and found friends regardless of race, gender, and religion. I taught all my children that all men and women are equal, that we should love each other equally.

Apparently, Peter decided not to take these lessons into account. So far we have been silent, but now we see that it was a mistake. It was the silence of good people that allowed the fascists to flourish for the first time, and now the silence of good people allows them to flourish again.

Peter Tefft, my son, we are no longer pleased at our family gatherings. I pray that my prodigal son renounces his hateful beliefs and returns home. Then and only then will I be happy.

His beliefs in hate affect his siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as his parents. Why should we suffer from this? Again, none of his convictions he took as a lesson from home. We do not do this, we will never be and never will accept his perverted world view.

Once he joked: “The fact is that we are fascists, this does not mean that we do not believe in freedom of speech. You can say whatever you want. We'll just throw you in the oven. ”

Peter, you have to throw our bodies into the furnace too. Son, please renounce hatred, accept and love all. ”

Recall 12 August the car hit a crowd of demonstrators in Charlottesville, Virginia, during a march of far-right activists. As a result, the 32-year-old woman was killed and another 19 man was injured. Also near Charlottesville, a police helicopter crashed, patrolling the march of the far right, which escalated into clashes with their opponents and riots.
