Lyft will pay passengers up to $100 if they miss their scheduled ride with a new on-time ride promise - just in time for the holidays. Writes about this Travel and Leisure.

Lyft now promises travelers who pre-schedule a ride that their car will be there, but if the driver is more than 10 minutes late, Lyft will pay them $20 in Lyft Cash. Travelers who do not receive a driver within 10 minutes of their scheduled pickup time will receive $50 in Lyft Cash.

Those who are not matched with a driver and have scheduled another airport ride through another company can claim up to an additional $50 Lyft Cash (for a total of $100). To do this, in the Lyft app, you need to click the “Help” tab and present a receipt from another company.

“When you're driving to the airport, every minute counts,” said David Risher, CEO of Lyft. “We're so confident that we can get you to the airport on time that if we're more than ten minutes late, we'll give you up to $100 in Lyft credits to make up for it all—even if you take Uber.”

The new warranty will be valid in 22 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Newark, San Francisco, Washington, Boston, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, Denver, Seattle, Tacoma, Orlando, Houston, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Portland, San Jose and Salt Lake City.

Travelers can book their trip 30 days in advance and choose a time that suits them.

In addition, Lyft has introduced an "Extra Comfort" option, which allows riders to select "more spacious vehicles with premium drivers" and pre-specify their preferences for temperature, luggage assistance or cabin quietness. The option is available in most regions of the country where the company operates.
