Personal experience. How to wash a car in America

B Everything was easy for Ukraine - there are enough car washes, you can wash the car anywhere, even in the courtyard. You can pay 130 UAH. and get a comprehensive car wash. Everything is a little different here ...

To begin with, the statement “in the USA without a car is nowhere” is absolutely true. You can rent a car (quite expensive), go by public transport (in our small town, in Colorado, it is underdeveloped) or you can ride a bike. The last option has the right to life, but travel radius and luggage are limited. Pedestrians, if it is not the city center, almost none. It is not accepted to go on foot here.

According to my observations, in the state of Colorado, the owners are not particularly worried about the condition of the car. As a colleague said: "This is an SUV, it must be in the mud!". In 90% of cases, this is a tool for everyday use, and very few people care about the appearance and cleanliness of the cabin. Here, easily in the parking lot, you can open your door at the door of your car, leave a dent and go to the store. However, as in the homeland.

On the other hand, the founders and vendors of culture detailing'a - Chemical Guys, Adam's Polishes are in the USA. The number of products, ranging from shampoos, silantes, waxes and to inventory, just rolls over.

In Colorado, it is not forbidden to wash a car near a house, but it is forbidden to drain dirty water into drains. If there is no private home, then, as a rule, there is no access to water.

There are several options where to put the car in order:

• many dealerships (if you purchased the car from them) offer the option of free car wash over the weekend. Option, but from such a service more harm than good - the rags are dirty, scratches on the plastic, the whole machine is in divorce. Does not fit.
• Self-service car wash  - you come, pay for water under pressure on the meter, wash the car yourself. Buckets, brushes, shampoo, rags are your problems. In fact, you are provided with a “pressurized water” service, a drainage system. The brush, which is usually found on the floor, in the debris and sand, does not count. Not suitable.
• Detailing services  - service of washing and restoration of the exterior and interior of the car. Manual cleaning is expensive.
• Car wash at a gas station. Tunnel car wash with an extra charge for cleaning the cabin. The quality leaves much to be desired.
• Contactless tunnel washers with the possibility of self-cleaning salon. I have stopped on this variant, I will write about it in more detail below.

What does the car wash offer and how much does it cost:

An interesting feature is that the “guarantee” is provided for washing. If the next 3 of the day rains or the car after off-road all in the dirt, you can come and wash for free.

If this is not enough or you need to clean the interior, then you can drive to the parking lot under a canopy, where a free industrial vacuum cleaner and compressor is available to blow water out of the cracks, apply wax and wipe dry.

Ps. There is an interesting law in Colorado - it is forbidden to collect rainwater in a tank. Even if this is your private home and it is raining.
