Kuwait Airlines refuses to allow Israelis on board

The United States has accused Kuwait Airlines of discriminating against Israelis after it was found that its employees refused to allow Israeli citizens on board a plane flying from the United States to the UK.

An investigation into the incident began following a complaint received by the US Department of Transport from Israeli citizen Eldad Gat, who permanently resides in the UK. The man tried to purchase a ticket for a Kuwait Airlines flight from New York to London, but discovered that Israel was not on the company's list. The incident occurred in 2013, but, as the Ministry of Transport explained, it is far from the first - and not the last.

The US authorities have demanded explanations from the airline in connection with apparent discrimination. In response, representatives of the Kuwaiti Airlines explained that Kuwaiti law forbids any cooperation with Israel and Israelis. To which the US authorities made it clear: US law is a priority in the United States.

The company was warned that if the attitude towards the owners of Israeli passports will not change, the company will face a large fine. And in the future - a warning about the restriction of activities in the United States.
