Poll: comedian Zelensky in the second round of the presidential election in Ukraine will win any of the rivals

The Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted a survey among adult citizens of Ukraine, in which he inquired about their sympathies on the eve of the presidential elections in Ukraine, as well as their opinion on the country's foreign economic orientation.

Appearance on elections

72 percent of respondents, when asked directly about their turnout for the elections, answered that they would most likely go to vote in the presidential elections. Of these, 44 percent said they definitely intend to do so. Among the youngest voters (under 30), only 22 percent fall into the “most likely to vote” category, while among those over 60, the figure is 65 percent.

The first round of presidential elections in Ukraine

According to the survey results, comedian Vladimir Zelensky has the greatest support, for which 19,5 percent among all respondents are ready to vote and 32 percent among those who are going to vote and have already decided on a candidate. In second place is the current president, Petro Poroshenko (10% and 17%, respectively), followed by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko (8% and 12,5%).

After them come Yuriy Boyko (6% and 10%), Anatoly Gritsenko (4% and 7%), Alexander Vilkul (3% and 6%) and Oleg Lyashko (3% and 6%).

25 percent of respondents said they intend to go to the polls, but they have not yet decided who they will vote for.

Less than a quarter of those who intend to vote for top candidates have categorically rejected the opportunity to support someone else. However, only slightly more than half of the voters of the top candidates are completely confident in their choice. In addition, among the voters, the top candidates 41-55 percent have a ready-made "alternative".

Antireytings

Petro Poroshenko has the highest anti-rating - 45 percent of voters said they would not vote for him under any circumstances. Next comes Yulia Tymoshenko - 20 percent. Anti-rating of Vladimir Zelensky is 11 percent.

Second round of presidential elections in Ukraine

If the Poroshenko-Tymoshenko pair gets into the second round, then 27 percent will vote for Yulia Tymoshenko, and 18 percent will vote for the current president.

In a pair, Yuri Boyko - Yulia Tymoshenko, the latter wins, she would have scored 26,5 percent versus 22 percent for Boyko.

In a pair of Poroshenko - Boyko, the latter would lead with 26 percent versus 22 percent for Poroshenko.

But still, according to the survey, Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko are inferior in the second round in the number of votes to Vladimir Zelensky.

Paired with Poroshenko, 43 percent would vote for Zelensky, 18% for Poroshenko; paired with Tymoshenko, 39 percent would vote for Zelensky, and 20 percent for Tymoshenko.

Zelensky is also gaining significantly more votes than Anatoly Gritsenko: 38 percent versus 24. At the same time, Anatoly Gritsenko would have won Poroshenko in the second round (32% against 18%) and Tymoshenko (28,5% against 22%).

Most respondents (23 percent) believe that Vladimir Zelensky has the greatest chance of winning. Slightly fewer respondents named Poroshenko as the main contender for victory in the elections (16,5%), while Tymoshenko’s victory was considered possible by 12% of respondents. At the same time, 41,5% of respondents do not have a definite opinion on this issue. Among Zelensky voters, 71% are confident in the victory of “their” candidate, among Poroshenko voters - 80%, among Tymoshenko voters - 70%. Among voters of other candidates, confidence levels are lower.

External economic orientation of Ukraine in the opinion of the population

49% of Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should become a member of the European Union. 13 percent of the population supports joining the Customs Union. Another 27 percent of Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should not join either the EU or the Customs Union. If a referendum on joining NATO were held, 44% of respondents would support joining, and 30% would vote against. In the west and center of Ukraine, the majority support joining NATO; in the south and east, the majority would vote against.

The survey was conducted in five macro regions. As for the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the survey took place only in the territory controlled by Ukraine. The survey in the form of an individual interview was attended by 2004 respondents who live in all regions of Ukraine and the city of Kiev, except for the occupied autonomous republic of Crimea.
