The Israeli government is looking for tourists to spend $ 4 390 in a restaurant

A group of 8 tourists from China for 1 spent the evening in the famous Hummus restaurant in Israel 16,5 thousand shekels ($ 4 390).

This news spread around the Israeli media and reached the country's foreign minister, who personally decided to check why such a large bill was issued to tourists, writes The Washington Post.

Владелец ресторана Джаудат Ибрагим объяснил, за что туристам выставили такой счет: они заказали несколько бутылок дорогого алкоголя — водка “Белуга” (стоимость бутылки составляет $400 долларов), целого ягненка (30 кг мяса), а также попросили отдельную комнату, что означало закрытие части знаменитого учреждения в оживленный пятничный вечер.

The bill looked like this:

• 4 000 NIS per private room ($ 1064);
• 650 NIS for snacks and salads ($ 173);
• 5 900 shekels for alcohol ($ 1569);
• 3 150 shekels for main dishes ($ 838);
• 1 350 shekels for desserts ($ 359);
• 1 500 шекелей — плата за обслуживание ($400);
• Общая сумма — 16,5 тысяч шекелей (4 390 долларов).

“Они знали цены до того, как им приносили блюда. Если бы они считали, что их обманули, зачем бы они тогда добавили к счету 10% чаевых?”, — отметил Джаудат Ибрагим.

Now the Israeli Foreign Minister and the Chinese Embassy in the country are trying to contact these tourists to find out what happened in the restaurant and what they think about the bill.
