What elections are held in New York, except for the primaries
Today in the vast state of New York, which in the north rests on the Canadian border, are the primaries.
Voting places are open from 6 am to 21 pm.
To participate in the primaries, you must be registered in one of the parties.
April 19 will also have snap elections in three district assemblies, written on the official website of New York. All registered voters can vote.
You can vote if you live in:
- 59 District Assembly: Brooklyn District (Kings County)
- 62 District Assembly: Staten Island District (Richmond County)
- 65 District Assembly: Manhattan Section (New York County)
What the polls say
According to opinion polls, Hillary Clinton leads the way in New York among Democrats by a significant margin. Sanders, however, remains optimistic. In an interview with NBC, he recalled that he had won more than once in the states where his rival had predicted victory.
According to polls, Trump, whose residence is located in one of the skyscrapers of New York, is leading among the Republicans in this state.
He is followed by Texas State Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasick, with a significant margin.
However, analysts have not reached a consensus on how many of the State delegates Trump will get in the New York primaries, taking into account that the outcome will depend on the results of voting in numerous local constituencies of the state, пишет "Voice of America".
The next round will be held on April 26 in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
