How rich families in New York hire adult nannies

The co-owner of the famous Blue & Cream boutique in Helptons and East Village admits that at first he was a little embarrassed to use the services of a baby sitter, but “it’s so good” that he quickly got used to it, writes The New York Post.

A nanny who can teach your child a second language will not see anyone in elite circles in New York. Now there is a popular category of super-nannies who can develop designer outfits for babies, as well as provide services to parents.

Limora Weinstein, who owns the LW Wellness nanny company in Manhattan, said that this trend is gaining momentum.

An Upper West Side family with 4 and 7 years old children asked her to find a babysitter with a yoga instructor certificate: "They wanted to make sure that everyone in the family would receive balanced attention."

The search for Weinstein was successful, and now this family has evening yoga classes. And once a week, when the children are at school, the nanny goes to their father’s real estate office, where she holds an 30-minute yoga session.

This may seem extravagant. But Erin Maloney-Winder, president of Abigail Madison, a domestic staffing company in Manhattan, said, "If you can afford it and you treat people well, there are no limits to what a nanny can do." She added that these super nannies often earn $10 more per hour, while the average cost of a regular nanny is about $20 per hour.

Maloney-Winder recently found a nanny for the family of a CEO from Greenwich, Connecticut. The mother of the children demanded that the nanny put her hair daily in addition to taking care of the two daughters of the family, accompanying them to school and preparing three meals a day.

A nanny, who used to work as a beautician, went to this family, and she also provides the manicure services for the mother of the girls and makes facials.

Seth Norman Greenberg, vice-president of the Pavillion home-based recruitment agency in Midtown, said that one of his clients in New Jersey asked the nanny to manage the ice combine because the children had their own skating rink. He found a person for this job, but, according to him, some customer requirements are too high and almost impossible to meet.

“One day family. who lived in a remote area in the Midwest where there were bears, wanted her New York nanny to know how to use a special gun to scare off bears. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anyone,” admitted Greenberg.

Many parents cherish such super-nannies.

One mother said that the nanny of her child had developed almost a dozen outfits for her 6-year-old daughter. The woman wished to remain anonymous because she was afraid that someone might lure her nanny.

“She turned my Lily Pulitzer skirt into a dress for my daughter, made her a Disney-themed birthday suit, and even made her—and her best friend—kindergarten graduation dresses,” the mother said.

Goldstein admitted that he was surprised by the secret talent of his nanny. He learned that Laren had a masseuse certificate after she was hired to take care of his 4 and 1 children of the year.

After that, parents began to use her services at a time when children are sleeping. For the massage, the nanny pays extra.
