Google presented new search functions: you just need to point the camera at an object and you will get information about it

Google has announced two new artificial intelligence tools that will make internet searches “radically more useful,” it reports. CNN.

Users will have access to Google on select Android phones. The first innovation is that owners of Android smartphones, when using Google, will be able to circle, underline or highlight individual objects in photos and videos, as well as individual pieces of text, to get additional information about them. This will allow you to formulate more complex and detailed queries, reports Law.

The company said it has been testing tools since last year to see how generative artificial intelligence, the technology behind chatbots including ChatGPT, can make searches more personalized and intuitive.

These features were first announced during the Samsung Unpacked event. They will appear in the Galaxy S24 line of smartphones, which will be released later this month. These features will also come to several other high-end Android smartphones, including the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

New opportunities

The first feature, Circle to Search, allows Android users to circle, tap, highlight, or write on images, videos, or text to learn more about what they see.

People will also be able to point their mobile camera (or upload a photo or screenshot) and ask a question through the Google app to get information. Google gave an example: I came across an unfamiliar board game on sale and asked the tool how it was played.

The company said that it has only slightly opened up the possibilities of search using artificial intelligence, and Google will continue to develop further in this direction.
