CVS Health closes 46 pharmacies nationwide: address list
CVS Health is closing 46 of its locations, saying the pharmacies are "underperforming." The pharmacy chain continues to shift its retail presence in the market in favor of providing medical services.
The move cost CVS $135 million, an amount the company said in its Q2019 XNUMX earnings report that it was "paying for store rationalization," the company writes. USA Today.
The pharmacies that will be closed will make up less than 1% of the total number of 9600 points throughout the United States.
The closed retail locations include a 64-square-foot (nearly 000 square meters) site in Springfield, Missouri, that was once called the largest CVS in the world. Four pharmacies in Chicago, two in San Francisco and two in Minneapolis are also closing (list below).
CVS CEO Larry Merlot back in November 2018 said that the company plans to reduce production space for retail products and offer more medical services instead.
