“And I say: they’ve just been producing them for 50 years without changes,” Orlov said.

His tuning studio in Miami, Florida, remakes the Oise into brutal super impassable cars, which Orlov calls “tanks”.

“You need to turn there - you can drive through a fence, through a barn, through a house,” Orlov described the car’s capabilities.

Converted and enhanced SUVs acquire new owners around the world, except the United States. In America, Russian cars often do not pass technical and environmental monitoring.

“UAZ has no certification at all in the USA, and the biggest problem is the engine. If the engine is not certified in America, you don’t even have the right to bring it here separately, just in a bag, they won’t let it through,” Orlov said.

American collectors import cars only older than 25 years, such cars receive a special blue license plate labeled "Antiques".

Former Kostromich Eduard Orlov for several years turned his workshop in Miami into a premium-class tuning studio with customers around the world. Orlov and his team make expensive off-road vehicles from serial pickups, which have almost nothing in common with the original version.
