A young American woman sent a naked selfie to a classmate and went to court

Minnesota court accused 14-year-old girl in the production of pornographic materials after she sent her classmate selfie in the nude, writes KSTP.
According to the prosecution, the girl used Snapchat. Later, a photo with a naked schoolgirl spread among other users. Now the girl is under house arrest.
The defendant was defended by members of the American Civil Liberties Union, who advocated the cessation of prosecution.
The defense claims that the incident should be identified as sexting (correspondence with sending explicit photos. –Ed.), And not as making pornography. But according to the laws of the state of Minnesota there are no differences between these two concepts.
In this case, the victim does not appear in the case, since neither the recipient nor his parents appealed to the court. The prosecution views this incident as "a way to illustrate an obvious problem that has consequences."
