'Your life is valuable': in California, schoolchildren prevented a woman from committing suicide

47-year-old resident of Fresno, California, was going to commit suicide by jumping from a bridge. She was rescued, having managed to convince, the pupils of a nearby school, who at that time were in volleyball training.

It all happened last Thursday, April 4. When the boys from the volleyball team figured out the situation, they immediately called the coach, who scored 911. The operator step by step helped the children to discourage the woman from the fatal step. In the end, they coped, writes Ykw.

The school made an official statement on its Facebook:

“Members of the Kepler School Volleyball Team helped save lives. The students acted without hesitation, noticing a woman trying to jump off a bridge over the Stanislaus River. While the woman remained on the verge of falling off the bridge, the schoolchildren told her that her life was very valuable, and begged her not to give up. Coach Elliot Murray called 911. ”

“A miracle happened! Our students participated in saving lives,” says coach Elliot Murray. “We pour our hearts into these kids’ lives every day, and they did something they will never forget.” I'm so proud of them."

Convictions of children led to the fact that the woman climbed back and did not jump.

“These young people stepped up to help when no one else could,” said Timothy Yeager, Kepler School Services Director. “Words cannot express how incredibly proud we are of the students under Coach Elliott’s leadership.”

When the woman was already safe, the authorities arrived. They reported that she was fine. The team members say that they will never forget this day and are grateful for being there and helping the woman make the right decision.
