'Friends' star to become first American Top Gear host

Actor Matt LeBlanc, known for one of the main roles in the TV series “Friends,” will become the first American host of the world-famous car program Top Gear.

Co-host Leblana on Top Gear, which broadcasts the BBC, will be a famous British television and radio host Chris Evans.

New presenters will replace Jeremy Clarkson, suspended from work because of a fight with the producer of the program, as well as Richard Hammond and James May, who left the project with Clarkson.

Steve Berry, who was one of Top Gear's lead players in 90, said in an interview with BBC that Leblanc is an unusual choice, despite his international fame.

"It's strange that the BBC would use an actor in a documentary entertainment show," Berry said.
