20 On April, the 119 Annual Marathon took place in Boston - the second in a row after the bloody act of terrorism, which the Tsarnaev brothers had organized at the 2013 Marathon of the year. This year, Rebecca Gregory took part in it - the victim of those explosions, one of those who suffered the most seriously.
Gregory spent almost two months in a hospital bed and underwent 35 operations. Her left leg was hardest hit - after a year and a half of attempts to restore the bones, muscles and arteries damaged by the explosion, it became clear to the doctors and Rebecca herself that amputation and replacement of the leg with a prosthesis would be the best solution.
In the six months after amputation, Rebecca learned not only to walk, but also to run on a prosthesis.
