Zelensky demanded Poroshenko to hand over the keys to the room and pay for the mini-bar

The future president of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, demanded that the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada appoint an inauguration on 19 in May. The corresponding video message was published on the social networks of the Zelensky team, writes Columnist.

He said that parliamentarians are not acting in the interests of the Ukrainians, because they are afraid of the dissolution of the Rada and delay the appointment of the date of inauguration.

“And while you are shaking for your mandates, former President Poroshenko is doing the irreversible: he is making active reshuffles in the high command of the army, trying to promote his chairman of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, appointing judges of the Supreme Court, including Roshen lawyers, Maidan judges and relatives of Mr. Kivalov. Distributes the rank of general to more than 20 persons, among whom is the person responsible for the safety of arsenals and warehouses, during which the explosions occurred in Balakleya, Ichnya, Kalinovka and Svatovo. Gives the title of “Hero of Ukraine” to the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine, Mr. Gritsak,” Zelensky was indignant.

He compared Poroshenko with a tourist who, when leaving the Egyptian hotel, brings home towels and slippers.

“But I understand that it is useless to say anything to a person who says: “I am ready to lend my shoulder,” and he himself keeps two figs in his pocket. It reminds me of a tourist in an Egyptian hotel. Home tomorrow, suitcases are packed, the room has already been cleaned and a normal, well-mannered person is waiting for a transfer to the airport. But not Poroshenko, he won’t stop. He pulls towels, slippers and everything from the buffet. I beg you very much, hand over the key, pay for the minibar and move on. You still have to go through customs and passport control,” the future president noted.

He also criticized the parliamentarians for the fact that they interfere with the full-fledged work of state institutions, calling for thinking about Ukraine.

“That is why I am appealing to the Verkhovna Rada. In the coming meetings, you should set the inauguration date for May 19! It is not I who demand this, it is the people of Ukraine who demand this, in whose interests you swore an oath to act. You must stop these lame duck political spasms. The country needs the normal functioning of all institutions. People should not wait for someone to be appointed before a long vacation. Please don’t think about parliamentary elections, think about Ukraine. May 19. Vote,” Zelensky urged.

Poroshenko team answered Zelensky, saying that they “do not accept any complaints regarding the delay in the inauguration.”

“Ukraine is not a room in an Egyptian hotel, as Mr. Zelensky seems to think. The transfer of power is a complex and responsible process. And Petro Poroshenko strives to implement it according to the European tradition, as this is customary in democratic countries. Consequently, Petro Poroshenko’s team does not accept any claims regarding the alleged delay in the inauguration,” Poroshenko said.

• In the Rada have registered five draft regulations on the inauguration of the newly elected president.
