The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will decide on the proposal of the winner of the presidential election of Vladimir Zelensky about the date of the inauguration of the next working week (from May 6).

This was announced by the head of the Samopomich faction Oleg Berezyuk. It is clarified that the exact day will be chosen after discussion at the factions, writes Columnist.

“We discussed different dates for the inauguration, there are different opinions, the date will be known at a parliamentary meeting, probably on May 14,” Zelensky said after a meeting in parliament with the heads of the Rada factions, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“I explained that we need to decide on the date, because we are in contact with foreign guests, who also need to understand their schedule, because everyone wants to come to us, to Ukraine, to celebrate this serious day,” said the aspiring politician. He added that it was “too early to talk about the dissolution of the Rada.”

It also became known that the politicians discussed the possibility of holding the inauguration on another date - May 28.

At the same time, as MP from the Popular Front faction Andrei Levus told Interfax-Ukraine, the head of the majority factions of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Artur Gerasimov, and the Popular Front, Maxim Burbak, were not present.

According to the people’s deputy, the BPP faction at the meeting was represented by people’s deputy Alexander Chernenko, the “People’s Front” was represented by the first deputy head of the faction Andrey Teteruk and deputy Anton Gerashchenko.

Levus noted that the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada was present at the meeting with Zelensky: Speaker Andrei Parubiy, First Vice Speaker Irina Gerashchenko and Vice Speaker Oksana Syroid.

Also present at the meeting were: the head of the Samopomich faction in the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Berezyuk, the head of the Opposition Bloc faction Vadim Novinsky, co-chairman of the Vidrodzhennya parliamentary group Viktor Bondar. The Batkivshchyna faction was represented by parliamentarian Ivan Krulko.

Levus added that the consultations of the leaders of the factions and Zelensky was not the current president of Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
