New fires threaten southern states and east coast

Large-scale forest fires may cover the states of Oregon, Montana and Wyoming already this month, but residents of the South and East Coast should not relax either - according to weather forecasters, the fire can reach these places a little later.

According to a forecast by the National Interdepartmental Center for Fire Fighting, published last Monday, in August forest fires triggered by dry grass and bushes will cover large parts of California, Idaho, Nevada and Utah.

By September, fires in the western part of the country will decline, but residents of the southern states should prepare for the worst. By October-November, the potential risk of forest fires will be higher than normal in a number of states in the South and East Coast, starting in Texas and ending in New Jersey.

Meanwhile, firefighters are fighting fire in the west of the country. For example, authorities reported that the fire area on state pastures in 95 miles northeast of Las Vegas was reduced by 80%. In western Montana, fire destroyed 14 houses and caused the death of one person. The fire started last Sunday in the territory of the Bitterroot forest reserve. Evacuated residents of the surrounding settlements were allowed to return home on Monday evening, but the area remains closed to travel until Tuesday evening: authorities fear that strong wind and low humidity may prevent successful struggle with further fires.

The worst situation is now emerging in California, where 5400 firefighters are struggling with fire on rough terrain, which greatly complicates their work. All state parks in the state are closed until further notice. As expected, the fires here will stop no earlier than the end of August.
