'I am an extremely level-headed genius': Trump responded to Pelosi's claims of his 'tantrum'

US President Donald Trump, responding to 23 in May to criticism from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, called himself an "extremely calm" person, and also described himself as an "extremely balanced genius."

Hours after Democratic Rep. Pelosi said the president's episode during a May 22 White House meeting, which she called "hysterical," left her concerned about the president's well-being "and the well-being of the United States of America," Trump responded harshly criticizing the congresswoman for “confusion,” writes USA Today.

At a press conference at the White House, Trump insisted on being a low-key person, asking several members of his staff to vouch for his peace of mind during a recent meeting with Democrats. In response, presidential adviser Kellyann Conway, White House’s director of strategic communications, Mercedes Schlapp, and the director of the National Economic Council, Larry Cudlow, called the president "very calm."

Neither the White House nor the president denied that he left the meeting with the Democrats, not giving them the opportunity to speak. Trump then convened journalists in the Rose Garden to report that he would not work with the Democrats until they finished investigating his campaign and finances.

Pelosi responded to Trump's announcement just minutes after it came out today, tweeting: "When the 'extremely level-headed genius' behaves more presidentially, I look forward to working with him on infrastructure, trade and other issues."
