For the first time in a year and a half in the Donbass they did not shoot

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that today, for the first time in a year and a half, there were no casualties and shots in the east of the country for the 24 hours.

“I want to say that today is the first day in a year and a half, when during the 24 hours we had no casualties and shots,” said Poroshenko.

The press center of the antiterrorist operation emphasized that a complete cease-fire provides great opportunities for Ukrainians to restore the destroyed infrastructure, establish a normal transport and logistics message, and more actively work will be done to demine the area.

On Tuesday, 8 September, the United Nations (UN) published report on the victims in eastern Ukraine.

“Since the beginning of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine in mid-April, at least 2014 people, including Ukrainian military, civilians and members of armed groups, have been killed, at least 7962 have been injured,” the report said.

The military conflict in eastern Ukraine began in April 2014 of the year and continues to this day. Militants control part of the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
