In New York, banned the sale of electronic cigarettes
The New York City Council approved a ban on the sale of all popular flavored electronic cigarettes, except tobacco. This happened amid growing concern about the effects of vaping, the publication said. CBS News.
About the ban
Voting took place just a few days after the second death in New York associated with vaping. Proponents of the ban say it is aimed primarily at young people. However, the adult audience fears that due to the ban they will also have to return to traditional tobacco.
“We are taking an important step to protect the health of our youth - a step that has gone on for far too long,” City Councilman Mark Levin said on the steps of City Hall.
Levin, who is the author of this bill, noted that the ban will not stop every child who is “determined to get a fragrant electronic cigarette”. However, the official is convinced, the ban will make the student’s path to getting what he wants more difficult and “eliminate the temptation”.
