Belarusian authorities want users to pay for Skype
Belarusian authorities want to force users to pay for Skype or Viber. If this is implemented, it will be a violation of the principle of net neutrality (net neutrality), according to which it is prohibited to provide preferential (or, conversely, more expensive) tariffs for access to certain Internet resources. In this case we are talking about the introduction of fees for the use of, among other things, free services.
“It turns out that everyone will benefit. Operators will create billing and recoup expenses, the Ministry of Communications will increase revenues, and all consumers will pay for it. By the way, according to a similar scheme, the country’s telephone installation was carried out at the expense of Internet users,” noted Fyodor Pavlyuchenko, editor of the online publication Electroname.com
