The owner of a restaurant in Virginia explained why she kicked out Trump's press secretary.
Co-owner of the restaurant Red Hen in Virginia, from which 22 June kicked out the press secretary of the White House, Sarah Sanders and her family, said that it was done because of the desire to "adhere to certain standards" and "morality", writes The Washington Post.
According to Stephanie Wilkinson, it all started with a phone call from the restaurant chef, who reported that Sanders had come to the establishment.
The chef told the woman that “the staff was a little concerned” by this visit, after which Wilkinson went to the restaurant, before that the woman was at home.
“I'm not a big fan of conflict. I have a business and I want it to flourish,” the woman said.
However, this time, she said, she had no choice, and she needed to confront the press secretary of Donald Trump.
“This is an important moment in our democracy when people are forced to take uncomfortable actions to stand up for their morals,” the woman said.
She explained that she considers the actions of the Trump administration "inhuman and unethical," so they do not correspond to her morality.
Upon arrival at the restaurant, Wilkinson saw that there were snacks on the table at which the Sanders family was sitting, but they had not yet carried the main dishes.
According to the woman, she decided to consult with the staff of the institution for further action.
“I can ask her to leave,” she suggested to the staff.
“Yes,” the employees replied.
After that, Wilkinson approached Sanders, introduced herself, and asked the presidential press secretary to “go out into the inner courtyard” to talk.
“I was a little confused, but I expressed my point of view politely and directly. I explained that the restaurant had certain standards that I wanted to uphold, such as honesty, compassion and collaboration. After that, I said, 'I'd like to ask you to leave,'" Wilkinson said.
According to her, the press secretary simply replied: “Everything is in order. I'll leave, ”after which she left the restaurant with her family.
They even offered to pay for the order, but Wilkinson refused. According to the restaurateur, “she would do it again,” if the need arose.
Recall 22 Jun Sanders and his family kicked out of a restaurant in Virginia.. A spokeswoman for the president said the reason was that she was working for Trump.
