Washington state recognized the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians

The Washington State Senate adopted a resolution recognizing the Holodomor as genocide. Ukrainians.
The document was adopted unanimously, reports “Voice of America".
“The Holodomor is recognized as genocide by the Stalinist regime against the people of Ukraine... The Washington State Senate solemnly remembers and honors the millions of victims of the tragic famine that occurred in Ukraine in 1932-1933; and further resolves that the legislature shall designate November 26, 2017 as Holodomor Remembrance Day in Washington State and encourage individual citizens, educators, entrepreneurs, groups, organizations and government agencies to participate in Holodomor Remembrance Day by organizing appropriate events aimed at honoring victims and educating the people of Washington State about this tragedy,” the text of the resolution says.

Once adopted, the document will be distributed to the media and state organizations.
Recall, in December 2016 year Verkhovna Rada appealed to democratic states with a request to recognize the Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine is an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people.
