Facebook launches currency transfer feature
International transfer service TransferWise announced integration with Facebook, writes Bloomberg.
The company stated that the service is available for currency transfers from the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK and Europe. Later, the service will be supported in 50 countries and 600 exchange points.
By running the bot on Facebook, TransferWise has expanded the list of payment companies that are experimenting with sending money through messaging applications. Many people are sure that they will gradually replace stand-alone mobile applications as the main e-commerce platform.
TransferWise rival Azimo announced integration with Facebook Messenger back in August last year.
Payment systems such as PayPal, Visa, Mastercard and American Express have already integrated with Facebook Messenger.
TransferWise is one of the most famous Estonian startups, in which Andreessen Horowitz, Max Levchin and Richard Branson invested more than $1,1 billion.
