In South Carolina, an alligator attacks a woman walking a dog
A woman from South Carolina is hospitalized after being bitten by an alligator near her home in Hilton Head Island.
David Lucas, spokeswoman for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, said the incident occurred in the Sun City area on the evening of August 12, writes CBS News.
According to Lucas, an 68-year-old woman near 22: 00 walked a dog near her house, next to which are several ponds. At this time, an alligator from 8 to 9 feet long attacked her and bit a woman on her wrist and leg.

Rescuers assisted her at the scene, and then brought her to Memorial Health University in Savannah, Georgia.
The dog ran away during the attack and did not suffer. An alligator control agent caught the animal that attacked the woman; the gator was euthanized.
