A riot took place in Oklahoma prison - three prisoners died
Three prisoners were killed and five were injured during a riot in the prison of Cushing, south-west of Tulsa. The prison is owned by the Corrections Corporation of America, based in Tennessee.
According to a representative of the corporation Steve Owen, the riots began in one of the buildings on Saturday evening, 12 September, and lasted about forty minutes.
None of the staff of the institution was injured. Wounded prisoners were hospitalized. The nature of their injuries is not reported. The prison introduced a strict isolation regime.
