The cyclone, which intensified on Wednesday in California, will turn into a powerful six-day storm that will move from the southwest to the mid-Atlantic.
The National Aviation Service has warned that the snow storm will affect tens of millions of people, as it will cause heavy snowfall and icing, flooding due to heavy rains and, possibly, a tornado or even two.
At least a dozen states of snow will fall, and more than 20 states will experience the effects of the storm in the form of heavy rains. Problems with air traffic and on the roads, as well as significant interruptions in power supply are expected.

In southern Texas, heavy rain and thunderstorms can lead to dangerous lightning. AccuWeather warned that some air currents can become strong enough to cause devastating gusts of wind and isolated tornadoes.

By Sunday and Monday, the storm will reach the Appalachian massif and northeastern territories. In the mountainous regions of North Carolina and West Virginia, heavy snowfall and 1-3 snow are forecast.
The storm may affect the large cities of the Mid-Atlantic and the northeast, but its exact trajectory and the potential amount of precipitation cannot yet be predicted.
According to Weather.com, warming is expected next week, especially in the east of the country.
