In Ohio, during Sunday morning worship, a car crashed into a church, wounding six people and breaking a stained glass window.

Firefighters claim that six wounded in the Crossroads United Methodist Church in the city of Columbus received medical care for cuts and other injuries.

The Rev. Jay Anderson says the congregation was singing a hymn when the car crashed into the wall. He says the wall "exploded" and shards of glass flew towards visitors.

He says that the church was unusually crowded, because there was a special Christmas show.

Inside were about 100 people. One woman, who was sitting on a bench hit by a car, said that she literally flew down the aisle.

After the disaster, there was a big hole in the church building.

Some of the parishioners said that the driver of the car was a 92-year-old woman, but refused to give her name. Columbus police also did not immediately recognize the driver.

At the time of this writing, it is not known whether the police filed any charges.
